Lovesongs by Lily & The Parlour Tricks (New York, New York)
Here at Dingus, there is always room for NYC’s favorite throwback, female-fronted, pop powerhouse Lily & the Parlour Tricks. The group, led by the charismatic Lily Claire and heavily supported by backup vocalists and a trio of distorted guitar, fuzzed out bass, and shuffling drums, has made a habit of releasing new singles quite frequently as of late. The latest is ‘Lovesongs‘, possibly their furthest dive into the modern pop realm, as long-time listeners might expect a modern Patsy Cline or something. The production team is killer with some Grammy winners and what not, and it is clear that this project is one of perpetual evolution. The instrumental is reserved and un-intrusive, while the vocals are present and emotional. Warm, sustaining synths and gated reverb make this track really gel and create it’s own atmosphere where we can all hang for a while. Bravo! @thinknotsleep
